About this resource

About This Resource

Monarch Community Outreach is an independent, non-commercial resource dedicated to community outreach and charitable giving in Colorado's mountain communities. We publish clear, practical guidance for anyone who wants to strengthen their town — by giving, volunteering, or finding help.

Our Purpose

Small mountain communities have big hearts and limited infrastructure. Good information about how to give effectively and where to find help can be surprisingly hard to come by. We gather that guidance in one place: how community outreach works, what the enduring areas of focus are, and how to take practical next steps whether you're offering help or seeking it.

What We Believe

  • Local generosity is powerful. In tight-knit communities, a small, well-directed effort can change a life.
  • Giving well beats giving big. Recurring, unrestricted, transparent giving does more good than one-off gestures.
  • Everyone has something to offer — time, money, goods, or skills.
  • Asking for help is normal. Strong communities make it easy and dignified to reach out.

Our Independence

We think you deserve to know exactly what this site is — and isn't. Monarch Community Outreach is an independent informational resource. We are not affiliated with any ski area, resort, employer, government agency, or registered charity, and we are not the same as any similarly named organization. We do not solicit, collect, or distribute donations, and we do not issue tax receipts. When it's time to give or to get help, we point you to established, transparent organizations and trusted national resources such as the National Council of Nonprofits.

Who This Resource Is For

We built this site for everyday people who want to do good closer to home: the new resident learning how a small town takes care of its own, the donor deciding where a year-end gift will matter most, the retiree with time to volunteer, the parent whose family hit a rough patch, and the small nonprofit trying to keep the lights on. You don't need to be an expert or a major donor to use what's here — just curious and willing.
